R8 determines the fastest possible realease time. With 47k fastest release is approximately 100ms. If faster release time is wanted change R8 to 22k it changes the fastest release to approximately 50ms.


Make sure BD139 is oriented correctly. Emitter goes to the square pad on BD139 footprint.

I noticed that when I have the threshold all the way at max, I still get led meter action when turning the input gain up. Is this normal? What are the leds indicating?

Even when threshold is at max, large enough input signal will start gain reduction.
