Higher specced Power transformer

Post by scott2000 »

I found a transformer I'd like to try and use in a circuit but it's 520v secondary current rating is 90mA as opposed to the specced 40mA. The other windings are where they need to be.
If all the parts are in the circuit already, what changes can I expect to make to account for the increase I'll see?

What about this Edcor?

It's a bit bigger so I guess it'll need more adjustments to fit. Just confused how the zeners work among other things
Thanks!

Under light load the 90 mA transformers might have a little bit higher B+ compared to the 40 mA transformer. Little bit higher B+ voltage shouldn't matter with tube circuits and the 150V is set by the zener anyway. So go ahead and use the 90 mA transformer with the circuit as is.
